SIMPLE REQUIREMENTS - THE STUFF YOU CAN DO YOURSELFUnless you are trained in the law, it is very easy to assume that you have to rely on the services of solicitors or lawyers for everything which may have legal implications. Of course you may have to consult them if you are unsure about something important, but in truth there are a number of other places you can go to for information. For example, if you need to set up some Terms and Conditions to cover your sales to Customers, you can always look at the ones which your own suppliers place on you. Whilst you can't just copy these word for word, the general sense of them will probably be similar to what you need. Many on-line services exist which will sell you pro-forma documents which you can add your own company name to. As a rule of thumb, you will probably find it cheaper if you create your own documents and then refer the important ones to a legal adviser for comment or modification, rather than asking them to write one for you from scratch. You could share your thoughts on 'simple requirements' with other business people. |
